Madagascar has the highest biodiversity priority on the planet, threatened by rapid population growth, posing increasing demand for land and natural resources (USAID, 2021). PowerPath supports sustainable development leveraging the country's abundant renewable solar energy potential (4-5.5kWh/m²/day-annual-average-solarirradiation/44,000MW,National_Renewable_Energy_Action_Plan,2021). The project reduces reliance on fossil fuels and mitigates environmental degradation caused by traditional energy methods like kerosene lamps and diesel generators. This aligns with SDG-7, for access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all and SDG-13 for the development of sustainable energy practices supporting climate change adaptation.
